OTTAWA – The recent rains have caused some area roadways to be closed due to the high water. Green and Champlain Streets in Ottawa were flooded with water from the Fox River, while the Illinois River has caused Dee Bennett Road to be closed from Utica to the LaSalle County Nursing Home, and Ben Samek Road was closed from 251 to N.2550th Road. Near Seneca, DuPont Road was closed 1/4 mile east of IL 170. Many rural roads may still have standing water, so authorities advise please use caution and when in doubt, turn around.
