LASALLE – In a move the organizers stated as unprecedented, the Mayors and Police Chiefs of LaSalle, Peru, Oglesby and Spring Valley announced yesterday a proposed sharing of law enforcement resources. The possibility of some type of official coalition was suggested in light of Peru’s new police facility that could house multiple agencies. In recent weeks, the four city councils voted unanimously to begin more in depth studies of the plan. Although no final decisions have been made, each department would continue to operate independently but overlap in other areas, like equipment and collaborative policing efforts.
