14-year-old flees traffic stop in stolen vehicle in Mendota

MENDOTA – A 14-year-old is facing a number of charges after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop driving a stolen vehicle in Mendota on Tuesday morning. The Mendota Police Department say a car without lights on at 1 AM allegedly led police on a pursuit at a high rate of speed out of town. The juvenile was taken into custody in rural Mendota and was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Aggravated Fleeing or Eluding, Reckless Driving and No Valid Drivers License. The 14-year-old was taken to the LaSalle County Juvenile Detention Center.
