18 years later questions remain unanswered in Mesarchik murder

STREATOR – Questions remain unanswered in what happened to 7-year-old Dalton Mesarchik, who was reported missing on March 26th, 2003. The next day his body was found along the Vermillion River south of Streator, but no suspects or further clues have turned up in the years since. The Illinois State Police, the Streator Police Department, Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, Livingston County Coroner’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the LaSalle and Livingston County State’s Attorney’s continue to explore every lead they find to try to find out who may have murdered the boy who was last seen on his front porch waiting for a ride. A reward of $50,000 remains in effect for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the crime.
