OTTAWA – The LaSalle County Health Department was notified of 2 additional COVID-19 related deaths in the county, a male in his 70’s and a female in her 80’s. There have now been a total of 161 coronavirus related deaths throughout LaSalle County. The health department also confirmed 76 new cases and 46 recoveries on Wednesday, for a total of 7,066 cases since the start of the pandemic and 4,294 recoveries. The LCHD also reminds residents that the IDPH will be hosting a mobile COVID-19 testing site this Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 4pm at the Illinois Valley Regional Airport in Peru. Anyone can be tested at the site for free regardless of insurance status, but they recommend you bring an insurance card if you can.
