SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health announced on Memorial Day that 31 people with Covid-19 had died. The deaths range in age from 2 people in their 30’s, to 5 people in their 90’s. The 31 deaths is the lowest for the month of May. Thus far, nearly 4,900 people have died since the first death was registered in Illinois back on March 19th.
Also, the state reports 1,713 new positive cases, out of nearly 22,000 tests.
