Twelve new cases confirmed in Peoria and Will counties

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health confirmed twelve new cases of COVID_19 in two different counties on Monday. IDPH Director, Dr. Ngozi (En-Gazzi) Ezike (Ezzy-kay) reports Peoria and Will counties are added to the list of places where cases are found, bringing the total number in the state to 105, compared to 93 on Sunday. Ezike says people should assume it’s in their community and evidence shows the transmission of the virus is high when first developing symptoms. It is urged to stay home as much as possible, but if you must go out, stay 6 feet away from the people you interact with. The COVID_19 hotline number (889-3931) is now available.  Governor J.B. Pritzker announced the expansion of unemployment insurance to cover those unable to work due to the outbreak. Per CDC guidelines, he is mandating gathering of 50 people or more to be canceled.
