SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Illinois Department of Natural Resources will have disease check stations open for the 2021 firearm deer season. Check stations were not open in 2020 due to health and safety protocols in place at that time. In LaSalle County the check station will be at Buffalo Rock State Park. The DeKalb County check station will be at Shabbona Lake State Park. Hunter-harvested deer must be taken to a designated firearm deer check station by 8 PM on the day the deer is killed. All persons at the check stations will be required to follow guidance from the CDC and Illinois Department of Public Health in place at the time of the hunt regarding use of face masks and social distancing.
The Illinois Firearm Deer Season dates are Nov. 19-21, 2021, and Dec. 2-5, 2021.
