CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — It was an “arrival” at the Charlotte, North Carolina airport, all right — just not one that was displayed on the terminal message boards. A woman heading to Charlotte from Tampa, Florida went into labor during her flight Wednesday. The flight crew alerted the tower — and medics helped deliver the baby on the plane once it landed. Nereida Araujo named her daughter Lizyana Sky Taylor — the middle name because of her arrival during flight. A passenger says a crowd burst into applause when the mom and newborn left the plane. The mom, her husband and two other children were heading to Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving.
