LASALLE – The city of LaSalle’s biggest music festival is back this weekend. BBQ n Blues will kick off the weekend festivities on First Street, Friday at 4:30 p.m. with Blues singer Ivy Ford and the big rib cook-off at 6 p.m. BBQ cook-off winners will be announced around 8 p.m. and more blues acts will follow to close out the night. On Saturday Jazz acts will take over First Street beginning with Illinois Valley Community College’s Jazz Ensemble at 4 p.m. and later on fireworks will light up the night for the grand finale. Both events are family-friendly though it’s advised not to bring any pets.
