Bond set at $5M for suspect in Cullom triple-killing

PONTIAC, Ill. (AP) — A judge has set a $5 million bond for a state corrections officer who’s charged in the Christmas Day shootings of his wife, adult son and another man in a small eastern Illinois community. Fifty-three-year-old Clifford W. Brewer faces six counts of first-degree murder. The Livingston County State’s Attorney’s Office filed the charges Friday morning before Brewer appeared for his initial court hearing in Pontiac. The Journal Star of Peoria reports that authorities allege Brewer fatally shot his 48-year-old wife, 27-year-old son and a 51-year-old man inside a home in Cullom. Police later arrested Brewer, who is a corrections officer at the Pontiac Correctional Center.
