CEDAR POINT – The Cedar Point Fire Department has gained new equipment thanks to a number of grants and donations. The Office of the State of Illinois Fire Marshal grant allowed them the opportunity to purchase 3 new defibrillators, a stokes basket and Reeves Sleeve. Funds awarded from the American Rescue Plan Act from the LaSalle County Board were put towards a Lucas CPR Compression Device, an automatic machine that performs CPR on a patient in need. The department also received a donation from UKA Hickory Wind for upgrades and the purchase of emergency response equipment.
