Child Pornography Charges Filed Against Sandwich School Bus Driver

A school bus driver for the Sandwich School District is facing several child pornography charges. The Kendall County Sheriff’s office says they initiated an investigation based on a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Authorities say based on that investigation, the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office approved seven counts of child pornography against 61-year-old Daniel Lee Aldrich, of Sandwich. The Sandwich School Superintendent says that officials do not believe that any students from their district were victims of the alleged crime, and that Aldrich has been placed on unpaid leave.
The Sheriff’s Office says their investigation lasted three months from the time they got the cybertip. Aldrich has been charged with 2 counts of dissemination of child pornography, a class X felony, and 5 counts of possession. As of Friday, he was being held in the Kendall County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
