Deaths from covid reported at area nursing homes by the IDPH

OTTAWA – The Illinois Department of Public Health on Friday reported more deaths in the previous seven days from area long term care facilities. They say that the LaSalle County Nursing Home has 2 deaths among the 26 cases reported. Ottawa Pavilion is reporting one death out of their 12 cases. Three area facilities are reporting cases among residents and staff with no deaths, including Streator Unlimited, Parker Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and the Veterans Home in LaSalle. The hardest hit facility in LaSalle County is Heritage Health in Mendota, which is reporting 17 deaths and 109 cases among residents and staff since the pandemic began.  Earlier in the year Aperion Care in Marseilles had an outbreak that took 10 lives and infected 42.
