Dec. 1st : World AIDS Day!


OTTAWA – World AIDS Day is Saturday December 1st. According to HIV.gov, the Federal theme for the 2018 observance is “Saving Lives through Leadership and Partnerships”. World AIDS Day serves as an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, and remember those who have died from AIDS-related illness. According to worldaidsday.org, globally, there are an estimated 36.7 million people who have the virus. AIDS is the most severe phase of HIV infection. HIV testing sites can be found locally at the LaSalle County Health Department or Planned Parenthood of Illinois, both located in Ottawa.
