DeKalb County Deaths Determined to be Murder Suicide After Fire Investigation

DEKALB – A couple found deceased after a house fire near Malta early Sunday morning had their deaths attributed to a murder suicide. According to the DeKalb County Coroner, 75-year-old William M. Kreda shot his wife, 76-year-old Marjory R. Kreda in the head in their bed, then proceeded to start fires in buildings around the property and the home. William then went into the bedroom and shot himself next to his wife. A 45 caliber handgun was recovered in the home. The investigation continues by the State Fire Marshall’s office and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
