Drug Take Back Event Saturday in Streator

STREATOR – The Opioid Use Disorder Action Team of Live Well Streator is hosting a drive-thru event to dispose of unwanted medication on Saturday. As part of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, Live Well Streator is giving residents the opportunity to properly dispose of unwanted or expired prescription and over-the-counter drugs. A drive-thu disposal will be will be available at the southwest corner parking lot on Hickory Street in Streator’s City park from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Labels or personal information must be removed or blacked out before disposal.
Medications that are flushed down the toilet or thrown away can contaminate water supplies and the environment. Proper disposal of unused drugs saves lives and helps protects the environment.
