MENDOTA – A car and a motorcycle collided north of Mendota Saturday leaving one man dead. In a release by the LaSalle County Coroner authorities were called around noon to the intersection of North 46th Road and 251. A lifeflight helicopter was called to the scene, however, the driver of the motorcycle, identified as 56-year-old Kenneth P. Candella, was killed. The incident remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police and the LaSalle County Coroner’s Office
