Expect haze in the atmosphere as wildfires blaze out west

By: Bonnie Moreland

UNDATED – Meteorologists say the atmosphere in North Central Illinois could be hazy these next few days as smoke travels from wildfires out west and in Canada. According to the Associated Press, erratic winds added to the danger for firefighters on Monday as they battled the largest wildfire in the United States. The Bootleg Fire is considered one of the largest in modern Oregon history and is burning an area about the size of Los Angeles. National Weather Service Meteorologist Rafal Ogorek says you can expect to see the effects from the blaze up above.
