Fire Extinguished in South Streator

SOUTH STREATOR – Three fire departments helped extinguish a house fire in South Streator.  According to the Reading Fire Department, Saturday morning about 12:10 they were called to a report of smoke coming from the siding of a home in the 2000 block of South Church street.  Firefighters pulled the siding and found flames hidden in the walls.  The fire was under control in less than 10 minutes and Reading firefighters, joined by the Cornell and Long Point Fire Departments, were on the scene for nearly 2 hours.  No injuries were reported.
