Four Pets Rescued From A House Fire

PERU – Two cats and two dogs were rescued in a house fire in Peru, Friday. The Peru EMS, and mutual aide were called to the 2800th block of 5th street for a reported structure fire. Two dogs along with two cats were found in the house. The dogs were sent to Bridgeview Vetinary Hospital, and later confirmed dead by their owner. Two cats were discovered shortly after the dogs and are reported to be in good condition. According to Peru Fire Chief, Jeff King the fire was contained in the living room, however significant smoke and water damage was present. No people were harmed and the incident remains under investigation.
