LASALLE – LaSalle-Peru High School students will have the opportunity to participate in a free heart screening this spring. The Young Hearts for Life Program will be coming to LP high School on April 30th to provide free electrocardiograms to identify high school students at risk for sudden cardiac death and to increase public awareness on the issue. Local organizer and LP Athletic Trainer Gina Martin says the high school has been looking for a program after a local junior high student lost his life to sudden cardiac arrest during a basketball game.
