OGLESBY – A gas leak resulted in a brief evacuation of residents and businesses Wednesday in Oglesby. According to the city’s Assistant Fire Chief Steve Maltas, the leak caused about three residences and a couple of businesses to be evacuated around 11:30 a.m. as a precaution. Mayor Dom Rivara said preliminary indications were a gas line was inadvertently struck. A Code Red Alert was issued that notified residents.
