Gas prices increase slightly

CHICAGO – More than half of all state gas price averages increased in the last week, including Illinois. According to the American Automobile Association, The jumps were caused by a decrease in U.S. gasoline stocks and increases in demand. In LaSalle, Bureau and Putnam Counties, gas prices have increased by around 5 cents, not averaging between $2.47 and $2.49 per gallon. Statewide averages are up by 7 cents, now at $2.65 per gallon.
