LORIS, S.C. (AP) — Talk about a horse with unbridled ambition. Fire officials in Loris, South Carolina were called out to a barn this past Sunday to check out a horse that somehow managed to leave its stall and climb into a hayloft. It wouldn’t be easy for the horse to get up to the hayloft — because it would have had to navigate its way up a narrow flight of stairs. And it would prove to be difficult for workers to get it back down. Rescue workers had to bring in heavy equipment to extract the horse by lowering it to the ground on a makeshift platform. Before that could happen, veterinarians had to sedate the horse. Now that it’s earthbound again, the horse has been seen grazing in a field.
