SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced say lanes that have been closed for construction will reopen where possible for the Independence Day holiday to minimize travel disruption. In LaSalle County, lane reductions will continue on Northbound Interstate 39 north of Lostant, Illinois 170 at Ransom will remain closed as well as U.S. 52 east of Troy Grove. Detours will be posted. In Bureau County, lane reductions continue eastbound on Interstate 80 under I-180 and on Interstate 55 south of Dwight in Grundy County. IDOT is suspending non-emergency roadwork from 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, to midnight Sunday, July 7, after which construction will resume.
