SPRINGFIELD – 12,623 new probable and confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported by the Illinois Department of Public Health. The IDPH started reporting confirmed and probable cases combined on November 6th, following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance. They do state that if a probable case is later confirmed, the case will be deduplicated and only counted once as a confirmed case. 79 coronavirus related deaths were also confirmed throughout the state, which included individuals from Bureau and LaSalle County.
