SPRINGFIELD – 8,828 new cases of COVID-19 were reported by the Illinois Department of Public Health along with 181 additional deaths. Among those deaths were individuals in Bureau and LaSalle County. Since the pandemic started, the state has confirmed 879,428 cases and 14,835 deaths. As of Wednesday evening, 4,751 individuals in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19 with 1,056 of those in the ICU.
