Illinois Audubon Society planning a tree planting event on Plum Island

 
UTICA – The Illinois Audubon Society is planning a tree planting event at the Plum Island Eagle Sanctuary. On October 15th volunteers will be planting 85 trees on the 52-acre island adjacent to Starved Rock State Park. The deadline to register is October 10th. Volunteers are asked to wear appropriate clothing and bring gloves to work on the wildlife sanctuary. Plum Island was purchased by the Illinois Audubon Society in 2004 and has become home to dozens of Bald Eagles and other wildlife. To register, visit IllinoisAudubon.org for details
