CHICAGO – Illinois may rank 4th in highest monthly average salary, but comes in near the bottom with job opportunities in a new survey released by Wallethub. They looked at factors people use in determining a new place of employment and found that Washington State was the best in the nation in a place to start a new career, followed by Colorado and Minnesota. The main drawbacks to Illinois include long commute times and a sluggish growth in new jobs being created. The worst of the states were Kentucky, Mississippi, and West Virginia.
