Illinois River flooding to approach record again

UTICA – Portions of area roads and property are flooded this morning as the Illinois River continues to rise in many areas. Marseilles, however, has reported a crest already around 2 AM. In Utica, the fast rising river was the topic of an emergency village meeting last night. LaSalle is expected to see the river rise to 33 feet, bringing it within 18” of the all time record set in 2013. Many area roads are already closed, and if you do encounter a flooded roadway, please turn around and seek another route.
