Illinois Valley Pads Shelter shows off expansion


PERU – Illinois Valley Pads Shelter opened house to present their major expansion on Saturday afternoon. The extended shelter now accommodates families with four designated rooms, additional office space for employees and a play room for kids. Board member John Sagi says the shelter that once held 28 homeless people, now facilitates 72. Both the men’s and women’s rooms have expanded as well with up to 24 beds per room.
