OGLESBY – The Illinois Valley Community College board Thursday approved a $34.4 million budget for fiscal 2022.  That is up seven percent over the previous year due to more than $3 million in pandemic-related federal funding.  IVCC received $3.2 million from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund to address student and institutional needs resulting from the COVID-19 outbreak.  Shield Illinois will provide saliva-based COVID-19 testing twice-a-week starting Aug. 23.  A mass vaccination clinic for students is Aug. 24. “We’re doing all we can to keep employees and students safe during these difficult times,” IVCC President Jerry Corcoran said.

“It hasn’t been easy and you’re never going to have 100 percent buy-in on sensitive matters like face masks, vaccinations and social distancing, but I’m proud of how things are being handled here and by all district schools,” Corcoran added.
