OGLESBY – Illinois Valley Community College is increasing student worker wages to comply with state mandate for incremental minimum wage boost in January. Payroll for IVCC would increase $1,350 per week to cover a total of 68 workers at $9.25 per hour. Cheryl Roelfsema, vice president for business services and finance, says the college would be paying $70,000 extra annually and $650,000 over the next five years. Roelfsema says she doesn’t anticipate having more than 68 student workers in the future.
