LASALLE- The LaSalle City Council met this week to discuss garbage collection services, and plans for a multi-jurisdiction law enforcement facility. Fleet rediness, turn around time, and qualified personnel are some of the issues Republic Services faces in the city. According to the waste services manager, plans are in place to improve the service. Beginning Monday, trucks serving Peru and Utica will be operating out of Republic’s Ottawa Station. In 6 weeks time, LaSalle will also be funneled out of Ottawa, making LaSalle the first stop of the day instead of Spring Valley
No actions were made on an ordinance authorizing execution of a cost sharing agreement for plans for a LaSalle, Peru, Oglesby shared police station. Committee members were in agreement that further investigations on operation and expenditures must be made.
