SPRINGFIELD – Local area counties harvested a total over 1,341 deer during the first weekend of the Illinois Firearm Deer Season. According to the Department of Natural Resources, LaSalle County harvested 469 deer compared to 555 last year. Putnam County brought in four less deer than last year, at 250. Bureau County hunters harvested significantly less this year at 622 compared to 749 in 2017. Illinois’ seven-day Firearm Deer Season will conclude December 5th through the 8th.
