OTTAWA – The Ottawa Police Department is partnering with the Illinois State Police for a traffic safety campaign during the holiday weekend. Local law enforcement will be cracking down on impaired, speeding and unbuckled drivers through the holiday weekend. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, 15 motor vehicle crash fatalities occurred in Illinois over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend last year.
