Long Term Drug Investigation Leads to Multiple Arrests


BLOOMINGTON – Four Bloomington men were arrested on Friday, after a long term drug investigation.
According to Bloomington Police Department’s Vice Unit, on Friday morning they concluded a three-month investigation focused on powder cocaine and crack cocaine distribution in Bloomington. With the assistance of members of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Marshals Task Force, Illinois State Police Tactical Response Team and Bloomington Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team, federal search warrants were executed at three apartments, two located on Empire Street and one on Fairmonth Drive. During the execution of the search warrants, it was reported that approximately 185 grams of powder cocaine, approx. 115 grams of crack cocaine, $6,900 in United States currency, three handguns, one shotgun and one bullet proof vest were siezed. As a result of the investigation, 23-year-old Khalil R. Hood, 38-year-old Lorenzo L. Aken, 30-year-old Raymone Stephens and 52-year-old Larry J. Lanier were arrested.
Police say, the investigation continues and further arrests are expected.
