OGLESBY – The Derecho that struck North Central Illinois caused plenty of damage back in August, and one of the attractions hardest hit was Matthiessen State Park.   It was announced by authorities that some of the park will finally be open this weekend.  Park officials say all of the park except for the Vermilion River Area is now open to the public.   Countless trails and facilities had been blocked by downed trees after the storm August 10th packed 100 mph winds and left many without power for days.
