CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (AP) — A judge won’t allow the media to publish or broadcast autopsy photographs of a 5-year-old northern Illinois boy during this week’s sentencing hearing of his mother who has pleaded guilty in his beating death. A McHenry County judge said Tuesday that he’ll hear motions before deciding whether the media can use other images showing bruises on AJ Freund’s body. The sentencing of AJ’s mother, JoAnn Cunningham, begins Thursday. She faces up to 60 years in prison. His father, Andrew Freund Sr., has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial. AJ’s body was found in a shallow grave near the family’s Crystal Lake home.
