MENDOTA – In light of the recent coronavirus pandemic, Mendota City Council approved an ordinance that would give Mayor David Boelk the authorization to declare a state of emergency at Monday’s meeting. Boelk assured aldermen and the public that this would only occur if necessary. In addition, the council also approved Boelk’s appointment of Vicki Johnson as the city’s 4th Ward Alderperson, replacing Bill Hunt, who retired in February.
