Mendota Police DART virtual reality training approved by state

MENDOTA – The Mendota Police Department will be handling the training of new officers on many certifications in-house. The new DART virtual reality simulation training system that they acquired earlier in the year is now certified as an instruction tool. Police Chief Gregory Kellen said that three officers are now able to train on various courses required by the state of Illinois. The department will be able to teach classes on De-Escalation, Use of Force, Cover & Concealment, Felony Vehicle Stops and Threat Assessment Training.
