MENDOTA – Residents of Mendota will see an increase in their water bill soon. City Clerk Emily McConville said Monday that an up to $30 million rehab and repair of the sewage treatment plant over the next decade will require the rates to rise. The City Council voted in the change Monday night. The monthly charge will increase from $11 to $14, and the usage rate will go from $4.30 per 100 cubic feet of water to $5.80. The new rates go into effect April 1, and most residents will see this reflected in the bill they receive in May.
