National Farm Safety Week reminds farmers to remember their health

OTTAWA – Farming is a dangerous and physically demanding job. Every day farmers and farmworkers risk injury from farm equipment, livestock, loud noises, falls, slips, trips and more. Certain social and economic indicators make up 40% of the health factors that determine life expectancy and quality of life. Health disparities occur as a result of unequal systems, practices, or conditions. Farming can not only be physically challenging but mentally and emotionally challenging too. Check in on yourself, employees, and family and of course, be safe this harvest.
