OGLESBY – The city of Oglesby has announced its intention to withdraw from the shared police services proposal. In a letter to the Mayors of Peru and LaSalle, Mayor Donald Finley notified that the city of Oglesby will withdraw from participation in the multi-jurisdictional law enforcement services with the two cities. The decision came after Oglesby’s representatives voted against locating the proposed joint station in Peru during a shared police committee meeting, LaSalle and Peru voted in favor of the Peru location on Shooting Park Road. Mayor Finley says no formal action will be taken until their next council meeting, Monday, August 6th.
