OGLESBY – Oglesby Police Chief Doug Hayse is retiring. Mayor Dom Rivara made the announcement, reading a letter of resignation from Hayse at Tuesday’s council meeting, stating his last day will be January 17th.
Hayse says he’s confident that as he leaves, the Oglesby Police Department has become a better police force. Hayse was appointed as the interim police chief in 2020 before becoming police chief. Assistant Chief Mike Margis has been appointed interim police chief.
