One person injured in vehicle crash on Route 6 in Marseilles

MARSEILLES – One person is injured after a vehicle accident involving a car and semi-tractor trailer on Route 6n in Marseilles on Wednesday. According to the Marseilles Police Department, just before 5 p.m., a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Skyler Kisellus was heading eastbound on Route 6, west of Oakdale Street, and reportedly crossed the lane of traffic for an unknown reason. Upon exiting the lane of traffic police say the car struck the back driver’s side of a semi-tractor driven by 49-year-old Daniel Novlan, which was traveling westbound on Route 6. Kisellus was life-lighted to Peoria Hospital where he sustained broken bones but no life-threatening injuries. Novlan was uninjured in the incident. Marseilles Police were assisted by the Ottawa Central Dispatch, LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office, Ottawa Police Department, Illinois State Police, Marseilles Fire Department, Marseilles EMS, Wallace Fire, and Illinois Department of Transportation.
