OTTAWA – Residents of Illinois now have the option to request a ballot by mail for the upcoming November election. The Elections.IL.Gov website has a complete form you will need to print and mail to your local county clerk. The deadline to request a mail in ballot is October 29th. Ballots will begin to be sent on September 24th. You will then have until November 3rd to have the ballot postmarked and sent back. Governor J.B. Pritzker said allowing mail-in ballots for the November presidential election would limit polling place crowds and COVID-19 transmission when he signed the legislation on June 15th allowing voting by mail.
