Ottawa proposes alley garbage truck ban

OTTAWA – Ottawa’s city council voted to approve an amendment to an ordinance that would ban garbage trucks from using alleyways to pickup waste. As the city plans to make improvements to the alleys, the council explained that it would be a waste of money to repair these alleys and still allow the heavy garbage trucks to use them. The council expects to hear public input on the amendment at their next city council meeting.
