Ottawa South Side Fire Station remains closed for asbestos removal

OTTAWA- Ottawa’s South Side Side Fire Station will remain closed for asbestos removal. According to the Ottawa Fire Department, asbestos levels were above an acceptable range in old tile being removed from the station. The department is working closely with city officials and the Fire Department administration to remediate the situation and restore south side station services. Until remediation is finalized, South Side Engine and Ambulance will run out of Ottawa’s main station.
